Firefighters Battle Six-Alarm Cambridge (MA) Fire

Firefighters battled an overnight fire that went to six alarms at an apartment complex in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The fire broke out just after midnight at an apartment complex at 888 Massachusetts Avenue, according to WCVB.

Cambridge Fire Chief Gerald Reardon said the fire was labor-intensive and fast-moving, jumping from floor to floor of the structure. It was a nonsprinklered building.

RAPID FIRE SPREAD AND OTHER DEADLY HAZARDS

The fire started in the basement of the apartment building and traveled up all four floors. A total of 125 firefighters responded to the fire.

All apartment residents were accounted for.
