Fire Students Honored

Richard A. Gillespie and Saundra M. Wilson, two fire science students from the Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus have been included in the 1978-79 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.”

Gillespie is a full-time student in the program. He retired as a battalion chief from the District of Columbia Fire Department in 1976, after 23 years of service.

Wilson is also a full-time student at Annandale and has recently begun working at the Smithsonian Institute as a preliminary reports, fire safety analyst.

Two workers were killed and another seriously injured in an explosion Tuesday at a Delta Air Lines maintenance facility near the Atlanta airport.
