Fire Service joins FEMA`s Project Impact

The fire service community has joined the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Project Impact–an initiative that is creating active public-private partnerships to help build disaster-resistant communities. FEMA Director James Lee Witt and 20 organizations representing the fire service signed an agreement in April forming the Project Impact Fire Services Partnership for Disaster Prevention.

Since its creation in 1997, Project Impact has been adopted by 118 communities. Additional information on Project Impact is available online at the FEMA Web site at .
