Fire Hits Row of Troy (NY) Homes Again After Fatal Fire on Sunday

According to a report from Times Union, a fire destroyed a row of homes in Troy, New York, for the second time this week, just two days after another fire in the same row resulted in the death of a seven-year-old boy.

Troy Fire Department Chief Eric McMahon said that this second fire occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night on Ninth Street, damaging three buildings. One building was vacant, one was under renovation, and another was occupied by three adults and two children.

No one was injured, but the smoke could be seen from across the Hudson River. Several homes were gutted, and the cause of the two fires is unknown.

Ninth Street was closed because of the firefighting effort, and drivers were asked to avoid the area.

On Sunday, April 25, a fire on Fourth Street damaged several homes and killed a 7-year-old child. The fire displaced 20 residents.
