Rescue Kit

Rescue Services, Inc. has developed a jump kit designed for emergency medical services. The Rescue Services PAC keeps its contents organized, securely in place and readily accessible. The nylon material and durable construction protect essential supplies. When used in conjunction with the optional backpack system, the PAC provides handsfree portability of life sustaining equipment.

Air Purifier

Deltech Engineering, Inc. now offers the Del-Monox Purifier for filling storage bottles and tanks with high pressure breathing air. The purifier removes oil, water and solid particles and converts carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide. Contaminants are removed via replaceable cartridge, which changes color to indicate replacement time. Purified air meets OSHA and C.S.A. standards.

The purification cartridge is housed in an anodized aluminum pressure vessel with stainless steel valves and piping. Maximum working pressure is 5,000 psig and maximum flow is 40 scfm.

Fire Service Computer

Fire Research Corp. now offers a computer system with programs such as dispatch, simplex alarm interface, inventory, roster, training records and fire call analysis.

All programs are menue driven (multiple choice) and designed with planned expansion to eliminate having the system become obsolete before its time.

Defibrillator

Datascope Corp. has introduced the M/D3A defibrillator system, a portable, lightweight monitor/defibrillator/recorder. The unit features a 5-inch diagonal screen with non-fade display and freeze capability, 11 energy settings from 5 to 400 joules, and high and low rate alarms with discrete rate limit settings. Other features include a digital heart rate display, 3or 12 lead capability and lead fault detection.

Operatable from AC line current or from rechargeable nichel-cadmium batteries, a lithium emergency power pack is also available.

Lightweight Cylinder

Scott Aviation has added a 2216-psi, lightweight cylinder for use with its breathing apparatus. The new cylinder is six pounds lighter than existing aluminum cylinders and requires no modifications to breathing apparatus.

Voice Amplifier

Earmark, Inc. has introduced a self-contained, battery-powered voice amplification system. The “Loud Mouth” can provide voice communications while wearing breathing apparatus. It operates on a standard 9-volt radio battery and has a 95 dB output at three meters. Battery life is about four hours.

Portable Radio

Wilson Electronics Inc. has introduced the Mini-Corn Plus, a two-watt, six channel VHP portable. It is 4-¾ x 2-3/8 x 1-3/8 inches, weighs 12 ounces and has an optional CTCSS tone with two-tone sequential capability.

Foam Proportioner

National Foam System, Inc. now offers a portable 30-gallon diaphragm proportioner. The WDP-30 can be used with all foam liquids, with water inlet pressures as low as 50 psi and with 60 to 180-gpm nozzles. The proportioner is available with or without wheels and handle.

Sequential Decoder

Selectone Corp. has revised its model ST-200 two-tone sequential decoder for two-way radio paging and selective calling. The decoder has a latched transistor output to drive a call light or LED and can make a positive or negative hookswitch operation.

A momentary output to control a vehicle horn or siren and a latched output to unmute the radio’s squelch circuit are also featured. A high speed, high frequency (800 to 280Hz) tone format and a slow speed, low frequency (300 to 1600Hz) tone formats are available.

Distress Signal Alarm

National Safety Supply Inc. has introduced an audible alarm distress signal. The “Man-Down” signal can be operated manually and will activate automatically if the wearer becomes motionless for more than 20 seconds. It is compact, light-weight, waterresistant and C.S.A. approved. An 89 dn. at 10 feet alarm will sound for up to four hours.

Thermal Camera

EEV Inc. has introduced a lightweight thermal camera that allows fire fighters to see through smoke. The 12-volt battery-operated camera converts infrared radiation to a video signal. A socket is provided for remote surveillance and recording using standard television monitors.

Tank Hose Bracket

Firl Industries, Inc. has developed a hose bracket of heavy-gauge steel with zinc plating to hold Fill hoses securely to portable tanks. Included is a shield to direct the flow of water into the tank. The hose bracket is secured with spring-loaded swivel clamps and comes in sizes of 2½ or 3 inches.

Monitor Base Antenna

The Antenna Specialists Co. has introduced an antenna which covers all low band, VHF, UHF and T-band frequencies. The MON-38 weighs one pound, has 18-inch stainless steel radials and waterproof phasing coils. The antenna mounts on any pipe or tubing up to 1-1/4 inch diameter, and terminates in an SO-239 receptacle.

Fairfield Medical Products has introduced a cardiac monitor defibrillator chart recorder, with a detachable charger and freeze control with automatic release. Also featured are four-second delay between scope and recorder, 360 joules capability, one milivolt calibration and built-in defibrillator tester.
