FDNY Firefighters Battle Fire That Rips Through Multiple Brooklyn Homes

Firefighters with the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) responded Tuesday, September 13, 2022, to a four-alarm fire that ripped through several homes on Halsey Street in Brooklyn.

According to amNY.com, a call came in for at fire at 1100 Halsey Street was reported at around 2:42 p.m. Arriving crews were met with heavy fire on the first floor of the address, and the fire extended to other structures.

WABC reported that nearly 40 units and 170 firefighters responded to the incident. There were no reported injuries, but more than 40 people were displaced.

FDNY Assistant Chief Kevin Brennan said the wood frame construction of the structures contributed to rapid fire spread.
