Extinguishing Powder From Dead Sea

Extinguishing Powder From Dead Sea

A proprietary fire extinguishing powder, comprised of materials extracted from the Dead Sea, is now a major export item from Israel Electrochemical, Ltd. The powder has won approval from U.S. and West German testing agencies. Israel’s Defense Forces have also accepted and are utilizing the extinguisher.

Based on developments from a U.S. chemical firm, the agent is composed of potash from the Dead Sea, potassium carbonate and non-ammonium-phospate. Each granule of the powder is completely encased in polymers to protect it from dampness deterioration, and to assure the rapid and even discharge from the nozzle.
