New slide assembly

The new Quic-Release Slide Assembly from ZICO is specially designed for use under the bench seats in ambulances and rescue vehicles where it holds compressed gas cylinders out of the way. When a cylinder is needed, the user pulls the latch and the unit slides out, presenting a cylinder for immediate use.

New shoulder pads

As added protection for breathing apparatus users. Mine Safety Appliances (MSA) now uses steel-reinforced Nomex shoulder pads as standard equipment on all of its self-contained and combination-type breathing apparatus. The Nomex aramid fibers and stainless steel cable provide resistance to burning, chemical attack, abrasion, and tearing.

The new respiratory protection suit 700 PF from National Draeger gives the wearer and his breathing apparatus complete protection from many toxic substances. The large built-in visor and gas tight zipper provide easy donning, and the universal fit allows the respiratory protection equipment to be worn comfortably under the suit, according to the company.

Deluxe hazmat kit

A deluxe version of the Sensidyne/Gastec Hazmat Kit is available with a hard shell polyethylene carrying case with storage capacity for up to 40 boxes of detector tubes. The kit includes a Model 800 piston pump with flow finish indicator kit, instruction booklet, logic chart, and direct reading detector tubes. The logic chart provides a progressive test procedure for determining unknown compounds using the 13 boxes of tubes provided.

Kustom Electronics has announced the introduction of a new computer aided dispatch system to complement its MCT-30 line of mobile digital terminals.

Cairns & Brother has introduced a new version of its N660 Phoenix helmet.

New features include a high-performance PPC shell for extra toughness and the protective Cairns M600 overcrown impact cap, which offers a six-way overhead strap suspension.

The N660 Phoenix helmet also incorporates Cairns’ breathing apparatus interface in the lining front band, a highly protective wraparound four-inch high-pivot faceshield, two-piece nylon chinstrap with postman’s slide, and new cushion liner with Nomex earflaps.
