According to a report from ABC7, more than 70 Los Angeles (CA) Fire Department (LAFD) firefighters extinguished a large fire that erupted at a multi-business commercial complex in the 13200 block of W. Van Nuys Boulevard just after 9 p.m. in Pacoima Tuesday night.
LAFD officials said the flames spread to at least two other commercial units and firefighters are in the offensive mode, but will move to a transitional attack on the exterior because of the conditions of the fire.
LAFD crews took about 42 minutes to extinguish the flames. Firefighters worked on adjacent roofs and cut a ventilation strip to help prevent fire spread.
Initial reports indicated that one person was possibly inside one of the units, but that person was later located outside and unharmed, LAFD officials said.
Firefighters also said it looked as though a person was living inside the vacant business where the fire may have erupted.
No injuries have been reported, and LAFD arson detectives remain on scene to determine the cause of the fire.
