Dearborn (MI) fire crews were kept busy between Friday January 27th and Monday the 30th, 2017.

On Friday, evening crews dispatched to a possible fire in a commercial building on Industrial in the city’s south end. Quint 3 had a working fire in a commercial warehouse type building. The fire was difficult to access. Crews made exterior attack from a back window. Firefighters made an interior attack and found the fire and knocked it down.

On Saturday night, January 28, police found a commercial building–a semi repair shop–with alarms and smoke coming from building on Wyoming street (again in the city’s south end). Quint 3 arrived with smoke showing and made entry to find fire in a semi tractor on fire. Crews ventilated the building and extinguished the fire.

On Sunday morning, January 29, Station 2 crews made a quick attack on a working kitchen fire on Syracuse street (cities west end). Firefighters made a quick attack to prevent the spread of fire.

On Monday night, firefighters received a report of a fully involved auto shop on Meginnity street and David in the city of Melvindale (Dearborn Fire Department covers Melvindale). Engine 5 arrived to a fully involved auto repair shop and a second alarm was called out. Crews made a defensive attack with Ladder 4 and Quint 3s ladders running streams. Crews had water pressure issues but extinguished the majority of the fire. Crews made an interior attack after structure assessment to knock down the remaining fire. Cold temperatures and snow did not hamper the efforts.
