CT Firefighters Revive Two Children After Rescuing Them from House Fire

According to a report from ABC7, first-arriving firefighters with the Stamford (CT) Fire Department (SFD) revived two- and three-year-old children with life-saving resuscitation after pulling them from a burning home on Custer Street Wednesday night.

A 14-year-old neighbor who was arriving home with her mother made the initial 911.

On arrival, SFD crews discovered the children lying semiconscious on the floor of a second-floor bedroom.

The SFD said a stovetop pot caught fire, although fire officials are unsure as to why. There was no damage to adjacent units from fire, smoke, or water.

No firefighters were injured.

SFD Deputy Chief Eric Lorenz praised the immediate, life-saving resuscitative efforts by the fire and EMS crews.

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
