A wildland firefighter passed away in late September 2022 while operating at the Moose Fire in Idaho, according to a report from the U.S. Fire Administration.

During the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 20, 2022, while assigned to the wildfire near Salmon, Crew Boss Gerardo Rincon, 48, suffered a medical emergency and passed away.
