RAM BROADCASTING. BELL SOUTH, and RF DATA have formed an alliance to provide wireless data communication capabilities to public safety organizations. The new venture, RAM MOBILE DATA, joins RF Data’s computerized state and national crime database access system with RAM’s national wireless data communications service. Combined, these technologies enable public safety officers to access federal, state, and local law enforcement data bases directly from their vehicles.

INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC CORPORATION announces the following personnel changes: GARTH F. MILLER, former national sales manager, has been named manager of engineering. DAVID MOULDS, former division manager for Safety Supply Canada, has been named sales manager.

At the regional NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTORS husiness meeting held in Nashville, Tennessee, this summer, DEWEY BRATTON (Able company No. 1, Inc., Houtzdale, PA), STAN LUMSDEN (PyeBarker Fire Protection, Ltd.), DAN DONNELLY (Alltype-Quality Midwest, Inc ), and ROD BRENTON (D.R. Brenton Ltd., Halifax, Novia Scotia) were elected by NAFED members to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors.

At its 30th annual conference this summer, the Board of Directors of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTORS (NAFED) reelected BOB BABCOCK of Hartford Fire Equipment, Inc., in Piainville, Connecticut, president. BRUCE BUCKNER of Acme Fire & Safety Co., Ltd.; TOM FARRUGGIA of Illinois Fire Extinguisher Co., Inc.; MERLIN FISHER of Stockton Fire Equipment; and PETER GARR of Detroit Fire Extinguisher Co., Inc. all were named vice presidents. The Board also named ED ROBISHEAUX of Corpus Fire & Safety, Inc. to the position of treasurer.
