Sutphen Towers Inc., a pumper and aerial platform manufacturer, has opened a second division of its Hilliard, Ohio, operation. This division is for the manufacture of the company’s new, enclosed, four-door cab. The new cab is designed to seat 5 to 10 people and incorporates a shorter, more maneuverable wheelbase. Sutphen Corp., a separate company which manufactures different types of pumpers and aerial platforms, has opened its new chassis manufacturing facility in Springfield, Ohio. Drew Sutphen will be the manager of operations there.

Thomas Suphen is the president of both the companies.

Hale Fire Pump Co., a fire pump and rescue tool manufacturer based in Conshohocken. Pa., is putting together a nationwide network of authorized parts and service centers. The company says the centers are being staffed by personnel trained at its factories to repair and overhaul Hale’s truck-mounted and portable pumps.

“Parts are now more readily available than ever before,” says Andrew Mount, Hale’s assistant sales and marketing manager for original-equipment manufacturer accounts. “This results in improved ‘after the sale’ service to Hale product users.”

Kustom Electronics Inc. announces that John J. Rounce has been appointed the national sales manager for the company’s communications division. He will be responsible for the sales management and strategic direction of Kustom’s digital and voice communications product division. Rounce joined Kustom in 1986 as the eastern regional sales manager.

Kustom Electronics is a designer, manufacturer, and marketer of traffic safety equipment, digitaland voice-communications systems, and computer peripheral products. The company’s headquarters is in Lenexa, Kan.

Life Support Products Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of emergency resuscitation equipment, moved to a new, $5.6 million, 63,000-square-foot facility in Irvine, Calif., in July. The company’s old office space was about 30,000 square feet and was also in Irvine, about two miles away from the new site.

“The increase in square footage will allow expansion of our shipping and warehouse, allowing Life Support Products to maintain its 24-hour turnaround on customer orders as we continue to grow,” says president Robert A. Hovee.
