National Foam Systems, Inc., is expanding its headquarters in Lionville, Pa., company president Donald N. Meldrum has announced. Foam truck manufacturing will be on two lines running end to end, from chassis to finished truck. A new machine shop using computer numerical control will allow machine part fabrication in one-tenth the present time in the 50,000 square foot expanded manufacturing space.

The company will use automated and electronic equipment to streamline its operations, manufacturing and developing chemicals, equipment and systems for the protection of flammable and combustible liquids.

Eleetrosonics International, Inc., was bought by Lila M. Gillespie, its president. Mrs. Gillespie and two associates have formed a partnership. The company manufactures radio monitors, encoders and pagers.

FMC Corporation has named David F. Richards marketing manager for its fire apparatus operation in Tipton, Ind. Richards will direct marketing for the division, as well as take charge of its national sales force and dealer network.

Prior to joining FMC Corp., Richards was director of marketing, high value products division for North American Van Lines, Inc.

Whelen Engineering Company, Inc. has appointed Amanda Royce-Hale advertising/promotion director. Royce-Hale will coordinate promotional literature and public relations information, and will place advertising. Previously she worked in the broadcast industry and held sales and advertising positions in Des Moines.

Mine Safety Appliances International has named Michael F. Walsh, Jr. area director, where he will be responsible for MSA subsidiaries in Canada and Australia. Walsh had been national sales manager for the safety products division. He joined MSA in 1960 as an international sales representative. He is a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers.

The Signal Products Division of Federal Signal Corporation has received special recognition from the Defense Contracts Administration Service Management Area for excellent product quality in the manufacture of naval electric sirens.

The award is part of the Contractor Assessment Program in the Department of Defense, which nominated Federal Signal on the basis of in-plant evaluations of its quality assurance efforts over a 12-month period. Federal holds military contracts for motoroperated electric sirens for shipboard use.

National Automatic Sprinkler & Fire Control Association, Inc., has appointed Richard E. Smallman northeast regional manager, according to Edward J. Reilly, president. Smallman is a chief and fire marshal of the West Shore Fire Department in West Haven, Conn. He also was president of the New England Fire Marshals Association and was a member of the Connecticut Commission on Fire Prevention and Control. Smallman served on the Connecticut Board of Certification of Fire Marshals for five years.

Red Head Brass, Inc., president Joseph E. Fishelson has been elected to the board of trustees of The Woods Schools and Residential Treatment Center, Langhorne, Pa. The Woods Schools provides a program of educational, social and clinical services in residential and day programs for developmentally disabled children and adults.

The director of Ansul Central Technical Services Dr. John H. Dyer, has been named chairman of the Panel for Fire Research, an evaluation panel for the National Bureau of Standards. He is the first chairman drawn from the private sector. Dyer will serve until June 30, 1984, he was appointed by the National Academy of Sciences.

The Antenna Specialists Co. has restructured its marketing/sales organizations, promoting four top executives and adding several key people. The change, designed to provide better service in product information, technical services and sales support, has promoted Robert Treanor, formerly product manager of personal locating and distress signaling devices, to director of marketing. Previously he was with Motorola for 10 years.

Vic DiAngelo, Jr., formerly product manager for personal communications products, becomes product marketing manager for all lines. He has held various sales promotion and product development responsibilities with the company for over 14 years. Larry Kline, formerly sales vice president of the professional products line, becomes vice president of sales for all products. Kline has been with the Antenna Specialists Co. since 1963.

The new national sales manager, Tyler Bryant and regional managers Bob Levy and Patricia Fritz joined the company after 12 years with New Tronics Company. Patricia Yezza has been named inside sales supervisor. A1 Dolgosh is the new sales manager for national accounts, John Dugan is now international manager, and David Carotenuto is export manager.
