DOUG NETTLES, formally with zodiac of North America, Inc., has been named by the commercial products division of BOSTON WHALER, INC., a subsidiary of Reebok International, to head the market development the division’s new Impact 21-foot open boat.

FIREGEAR, INC., the manufacturer of protective firefighting clothing, has announced the addition of THOMAS M. SAVAGE as its vice president of sales and marketing. Savage formally worked on the executive level Coors Ceramics Company and GE Plastics.

As part of company marketing changes at the STEEL TANK INSTITUTE, a trade organization representing about 100 manufacturers steel storage tanks, communications specialist PATRICIA A. SCHIELE has been named editor of the organization’s “Tank Talk” newsletter, and communications specialist THOMAS L. LAMPROS has been named marketing communications coordinator. Lampros also will serve as liaison to the marketing committee.

JAVELIN ELECTRONICS announces the promotion of RAYMOND PAYNE, vice president of engineering, to the position of executive vice president. Payne joined Javelin in 1975 as chief engineer. He previously worked for National Video Corporation.

SOLA has announced that it has joined the Internet Subcommittee of UPS manufacturers, to help provide solutions for enterprisewide computing. The subcommittee’s purpose is to create an industry-standard UPS management information base for simple network management protocol communication between UPS systems and networks.

1992 marks a major milestone for TAYLOR-WHARTON, the oldest metalworking company in the United States; this year Taylor-Wharton celebrates its 250 years of uninterrupted production. During the Revolutionary War, the company supplied cannon balls to General George Washington and has furnished products to U.S. forces in every major war America has fought. In 1956, Taylor-Wharton became one of 11 divisions of HARSO Corporation. In 1985, Harsco assigned recently-acquired cryogenic operations to Taylor-Wharton, which has emerged as a premiere global supplier of cryogenic vessels.
