LION APPAREL delivered new personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Evansville (IN) Fire Department. AKRON BRASS named Joe Silvestri its new district sales manager, responsible for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. David Algie, based in Tucson, Arizona, is the new district sales manager responsible for Arizona and New Mexico. He has been working with the industry for approximately 18 years.

R-O-M CORPORATION named Steve Briggs chief executive officer; he will also maintain his duties as president. He succeeds John R. McAlister, who remains as the company’s chairman. Briggs joined R-O-M in 2004 as vice president of sales and marketing. Jeff Hupke will now serve as chief operating officer as well as chief financial officer. Hupke joined R-O-M in 2005.

Two workers were killed and another seriously injured in an explosion Tuesday at a Delta Air Lines maintenance facility near the Atlanta airport.
