■ CMC RESCUE marked its 40th anniversary year by introducing a refreshed name, a new Web site, and plans to introduce a series of groundbreaking products for the rescue and rope access markets throughout 2018. CMC was founded in 1978 by search and rescue team member Jim Frank, who identified a market need for more professional, specialized emergency rescue equipment. In the mid-1990s, CMC applied its rescue experience and expertise to an emerging work-at-height industry: rope access. ■ E-ONE welcomed Darch Fire as the new E-ONE dealership and service supplier in Ontario, Canada. Darch Fire has been servicing Ontario with apparatus and equipment since 1993 when they were founded by John Darch and Susan Miller. Recently, Darch Fire was acquired by the 1200 Degrees Group. ■ DEMERS AMBULANCES was selected to build 60 ambulances for MedStar Mobile Healthcare, a high-performance emergency medical services and mobile healthcare system based in Fort Worth, Texas, over a five-year period. The initial rollout of the new Demers ambulances is expected to begin this summer, with MedStar-wide implementation of the first production build by end of 2018. The agreement includes an option for the development of additional vehicles. To meet MedStar’s specific needs, Demers developed a new Dodge Type 1 short wheelbase model that includes an integrated, under-the-hood generator that powers a high-performance auxiliary HVAC combo system, which is critical to providing mobile health care services to patients in the hot Texas environment. www.demers-ambulances.com. www.medstar911.org.
