  • FIREHOUSE SUBS PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION awarded $31,750 in equipment to the Cañon City Area and Tri-Lakes Monument fire protection districts in Colorado. Cañon City received a BullEx BullsEye digital fire extinguisher system to train its residents on the safe and proper use of fire extinguishers, and Tri-Lakes was awarded 10 sets of protective gear including coats and pants. The award was made possible through donations at Firehouse Subs stores throughout the U.S. The restaurants sell recycled five-gallon buckets, and customers can round up their bill to the nearest dollar to raise money for the foundation. The foundation has donated $443,000 to Colorado fire departments since 2005. www.firehousesubs.com.

The transaction, which MSA announced in late June, was financed through incremental borrowings with an after-tax cost of less than two percent.
