Columbus (OH) Firefighter Dies After Contracting COVID-19

The U.S. Fire Administration had a notice on the death of another firefighter with the Columbus (OH) Division of Fire who succumbed after contracting the coronavirus.

While working a 24-hour shift, Firefighter Gregory Lee Bauer, 56, a member of Station 21, contracted COVID-19. He passed away from the virus on Monday, October 18, 2021.

According to a report from the Columbus Dispatch, Firefighter Bauer’s death marked the second among firefighters and the third among public safety workers reported in the last month in the city.
