CA Firefighter Dies After Contracting the Coronavirus

The U.S. Fire Administration released a notice on the death of a firefighter with the Mountain Warfare Fire Department in Bridgeport, California, who passed away earlier this year after contracting the coronavirus.

Firefighter/Paramedic Matthew “Bear” Michael Rominger, 48, contracted COVID-19 while on a medical call from a patient with a known case of the virus. He passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021.
