Bully Fire (CA) Grows to 11,700 Acres

The Bully Fire grew by 500 acres overnight, to a total of 11,700 acres as of Friday morning.  Containment remained unchanged at 51 percent, reports krcrtv.com (http://bit.ly/1n3ploO)

Most of the fire’s growth was inside the fire perimeter.  Eighteen structures have been destroyed and 68 others are still threatened.

A man’s body was discovered Wednesday near Yolla Bolly and Platina Roads.  Officials are still trying to identify the victim.

CAL FIRE said the fire continued to grow with fire behavior being influenced by overnight weather conditions. Steep rugged terrain has continued to be a challenge for firefighters constructing containment lines.

In spite of the harsh conditions, firefighters made significant progress on all areas of the fire. Fire suppression and repair has begun and will be ongoing.
