A raging, three alarm fire gutted a New York house Sunday afternoon, February 17.
The call came in just after 12:30 p.m. for a fire in a two story home at 275 Essex Street in the East New York section of Brooklyn. Fire Department of New York (FDNY) firefighters arrived to find a heavy smoke condition blanketing the neighborhood.

Fire operations were hampered by a large amount of clutter throughout the building.
The rear of the house eventually collapsed and Department of Building officials were called to the scene to determine the stability of the remaining portion of the house.
FDNY crews brought the fire under control after nearly two hours.
