TheAnchorage (KY) Fire & EMS Department designed its FERRARA pumper with a short wheelbase and turning radius for negotiating narrow streets and long driveways, explains Chief Walter Lage. The larger water tank allows a stronger initial attack. The unit also responds to medical calls.

The Boone County Fire Rescue Department in Harrison, Arizona, purchased this CRASH RESCUE EQUIPMENT SERVICE quick-attack unit to comply with regulations for protecting the Boone County Regional Airport, explains Chief Laurie Hunter. The unit responds to aircraft fires/emergencies anywhere in the county and to structure fires at the airport.

The Greenwood Township (MN) Fire Department uses its METALCRAFT MARINE boat for fire and EMS response to all water-accessible properties and supports land fire companies, Chief Randy Kladivo explains. The department serves the central part of Lake Vermillion (a recreational lake) and provides mutual aid to the rest of it. It is in the water from April to November 15th.
