APPARATUS DELIVERIES

BY JOHN M. MALECKY

The Houston (PA) Fire Department’s PIERCE pumper with a short wheelbase serves a small rural town with narrow streets, alleys, and hills, Chief Jim Simpson says. Haz-mat equipment is stored in coffin compartments, and a large water tank offers greater knockdown capability. It also serves as the mutual-aid RIT unit.
