Anaheim Fire Fighters Give $10,000 To Bum Unit

The Anaheim Fire Fighters Association made a $10,000 donation to the Burn Treatment Center at the University of California at Irvine Medical Center (UCIMC) during an April 29 benefit concert at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Engineer Jerry Hart, president of the association, said the check brings total contributions by the group to the burn unit to slightly more than $100,000 during the past eight years.

“The Anaheim fire fighters are one of our biggest supporters,” said Pat Allyn, head nurse in the special care unit, “and they have allowed us to pledge money toward skin graft and tissue research and purchase badly needed equipment in order to provide better care for burn victims.”

This year’s contribution will be used for the purchase of monitors.
