Spotlight on San Francisco (CA) Fire Department’s Handmade Ladders

Gizmodo recently took a look at the San Francisco (CA) Fire Department’s handmade wooden ladders, some of which have been in use for more than a century.

Braun also discussed acclimating the wood to the city’s climate, as well as the craftmanship involved in making the ladders.
