Pumper Contest

The North Windham, Conn. Volunteer Fire Department was the winner of a new pumper in the annual free fire truck contest sponsored by Emergency One, Inc. The truck was drawn on the floor of the International Association of Fire Chief’s Convention in Miami Beach, Fla., and the winner was named from more than 20,000 entries.

The pumper is powered by a 350 V-8 engine and is built on a GMC chassis. It can pump water at the rate of 250 gallons a minute, and is equipped with an electric rewind hose reel, hard suction hose, booster hose and nozzle.
