Press Release Boilerplate for 2003 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program is Now Available

Washington, D.C. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the United States Fire Administration (USFA) announce today, the availability of an online boilerplate press release to assist the successful 2003 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program award fire departments. With an anticipated 7000+ awards from the 2003 program, it is critical for the current and future success of this program that fire departments communicate their awards to both the public and the media. To access the tool, go to www.usfa.fema.gov/inside-usfa/grants.shtm and look under Spotlight.

In an effort to encourage and assist departments with the announcement of their awards, a boilerplate press release is now available for use, by award recipients. Many departments have Public Information Officers to generate community and media interest, but for those departments needing assistance, this tool is now available. Simply add your logo, department name, monetary award and the purpose of the award, and a working press release will be completed for you.

For the most current information regarding these grant awards, and any of the many other USFA projects, visit www.usfa.fema.gov.
