PennWell Hires Business-to-Business Media Veteran Paul Andrews to Lead New Marketing Services Division

Tulsa, OK  January 30, 2013 – PennWell Corporation, a diversified global media and information company, announced today that it has hired Paul Andrews as Vice President, Marketing Services, effective February 1.  Andrews, who will remain based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, will lead PennWell’s newly-formed Marketing Services Division, a stand-alone unit of the Company created to provide strategic consulting and marketing solutions including digital media, social media, website development, product launches, content marketing and lead generation.

Andrews, as a consultant to PennWell’s recently acquired Public Safety franchise,  provided digital media consulting and marketing services for advertisers of JEMS magazine (Journal of Emergency Medical Services), JEMs.com, the EMS Today Conference & Exposition (the JEMS Conference), FireRescue magazine, FirefighterNation.com, FireEMSblogs.com, Law Officer magazine, LawOfficer.com and APCO’s Public Safety Communications magazine.

Prior to joining PennWell, Andrews held marketing and sales positions including vice president of sales and business development at Go Forward Media; vice president of sales at The Praetorian Group; chief sales officer, Homes & Land magazine; and vice president online sales at Cygnus Business Media.  Andrews is also a board member of the Fire and Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association.

Under Andrews, the Marketing Services Division will be an autonomous stand-alone unit of PennWell.  Andrews and his Marketing Services team will initially focus on marketing services for the Company’s Public Safety Group as well as its Fire Group which includes Fire Engineering and Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment magazines.  PennWell’s upcoming conferences and exhibitions include EMS Today and Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC).  EMS Today, scheduled for March 5-9 in Washington, D.C., is the longest running and most highly regarded event in the EMS industry with over 5,000 attendees, 115 conference sessions and 250 exhibiting companies covering 54,000 net square feet of exhibit space.  FDIC is the world’s oldest and largest annual conference and exhibition for training firefighters, having started in 1928.  The next FDIC will be held April 22-27, 2013 in Indianapolis.
