PennWell Corporation Announces Restructure of its Fire Group’s Sales Organization

Fire Rescue & Firefighter Nation Sales Force to merge with PennWell Fire Group (Fire Engineering and Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment)

Fairlawn, NJ/December 10, 2013– PennWell Corporation announced today a strategic restructure within its Fire Group’s sales organization. The PennWell Fire Group previously consisted of Fire Engineering, the industry’s long-standing magazine since 1877, and Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment. In September 2012, PennWell acquired Fire Rescue magazine along with JEMS, Public Safety Communications and Law Officer magazines expanding on their approach to education and training in the public safety market. At the time of acquisition the three magazines joined PennWell’s Public Safety Group. Now, Fire Rescue Magazine and Firefighter Nation sales forces will merge with the PennWell Fire Group to give its customer base more options in consultative approach to marketing.

“When PennWell acquired this group, we saw a tremendous value in broadening options related to education and training in the public safety arena. Fire Rescue and Firefighter Nation, coupled with Fire Engineering and Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment expands its mission to educate the fire service on training and products. Ultimately, established brands dedicated to education, training, providing coverage to the most influential fire professionals,” said Eric Schlett, Vice President of PennWell’s Fire Group.

Both Fire Engineering and Fire Rescue have loyal followings with editorial staff dedicated to providing quality content. Joining sales forces allows advertisers more reach in the fire market with editorial elements serving the industry, to advance the fire service by educating as many influential fire service members responsible for training their departments.

PennWell did not immediately announce the personnel structure of the new sales organization but plans to release more information soon.
