Watch antique O-Scale trains and a street car wind their way through the Baltimore neighborhood in front of a new wooded hillside. Join kids of all ages as they enjoy the rebuilt Holiday Train Garden at the Fire Museum of Maryland. The new Garden features a “burning” building, complete with fire engines and hoses crisscrossing the fire ground.
Children get their picture taken free with Santa, 11 – 2 pm, in a 1890s fire chief’s sleigh on Opening Day, Saturday, Nov. 26th. In addition, families can stroll through two centuries of antique fire engines and a reconstructed 1871 fire house.
Dress up in turnout gear and climb on a 1938 Mack Fire Engine in the Discovery Room. The Garden is also open Saturdays in December (except Dec. 24th), and December 27 – 31, 10 – 4 pm.
Come for a special appearance by the Sound Sensations Choir, who will perform on Dec. 11th, at 11:30 am. Museum closed on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24th.
The Fire Museum is located at 1301 York Rd., Lutherville, one block north of the Beltway with ample free parking.
It is open Saturdays through the end of December and offers guided 5 unique guided tours for all ages, birthday parties and antique fire engine rides. The Museum can be rented for special events and community meetings.
