80 Breathing Systems—A 30 page, full-color catalog that illustrates and describes the Survivair line of back pack, emergency egress and other portable breathing systems, is available from General Scientific Equipment Company. Two lightweight, easily operated 30-minute pressure demand units with audible alarms are described, complete with photos and other illustrations as are other units containing compressed air for 5, 10, 15, 30 and 50 minutes. All provide optimum air flow for peak inhalation with minimal effort and exceed MESA/NIOSH specifications. Also shown and described are supplied air (hose up to 250 feet), air filter and charging station systems, a portable vacuum cleanup system and other accessories.

81 Air Mask Components—an illustrated data sheet, 01-02-10, on modern air mask components is available from Mine Safety Appliances Company. New components to modernize MSA self-contained breathing apparatus involve the air supply cylinder, Ultravue facepiece, regulator and harness. In many cases, MSA offers kits to simplify the changeover. When equipped with any or all of the products described in the data sheet, an MSA self-contained breathing apparatus continues to bear the Bureau of Mines approvals, or on newer apparatus, approvals granted jointly by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

82 Defibrillator—A four-color, six-page brochure describing the 450-SL scope, chart recorder, defibrillator, is available from Medical Research Laboratories, Inc. The brochure also presents a full-size, four-color display on the unit, in order to present the actual size of the unit. Specific information on the scope, the chart recorder, the defibrillator, as well as options is also covered in the brochure. Service information as well as warranty coverage is also outlined.

83 Antennas—A six-page brochure, SD726, discussing concealed mobile antenna systems is now available from The Antenna Specialsts Co. Featuring the new ASP-1000 “no profile” totally concealed UHF antenna, the brochure also contains information and specifications on the complete A/S line of high and low band VHP and UHF professional disguise antennas, including universal and direct replacement models.

84 Fire Fighting Gear—Fyrepel has published a new catalog showing its complete line of fire fighting gear and accessories. Included is the Attack Series for structural fire fighting, the aluminized 90 percent heat-reflective combat series for protection against extreme radiant heat, and Fyrepel’s new fire/chemical suit, which protects against chemical splash, fumes and possible ignition. Also included are the fire entry suit, proximity suit and aluminized approach suit., plus a complete list of fabrics and accessories.

85 Fireboats—The Marine Division of the Engineering Equipment Company has issued a new fireboat brochure. This brochure illustrates EEC’s Fire/Rescue II, a 24-foot rapid intervention diesel-powered boat designed for harbor fire and rescue use. The vessel is available in both fiberglass and aluminum construction and can be supplied on a road trailer for easy transportation to remote areas. Designed for use around airports and harbors, it is equipped with life-saving apparatus and can serve a dual purpose as an ambulance boat. The vessel is equipped with a lOOO-gpm fire pump, a foam system for fighting oil fires and a salvage suction line for emergency service to other vessels.

86 Films—Fire Prevention through Films, Inc., has released a new catalog of 16mm safety and fire prevention films for training and public information. The catalog includes films for health care facilities, industry, fire departments, schools and homes. The lessons taught are basic safety and fire prevention for front line employees or for home or school.

87 Batteries—A full line of replacement batteries for a variety of applications is featured in a catalog from Alexander Manufacturing Company. Included in the illustrated 12-page catalog are batteries for pagers, hand-held two-way radios, portable video tape recorders, cameras, and emergency medical equipment. Nickel-cadmium, alkaline. mercury, and single-cell batteries, as well as Alexander’s line of automatic battery chargers, are all described in the catalog. A price list is also available.

88 Antennas—Russell Industries, Inc., has announced a new brochure describing its complete line of replacement antennas. Featured in the brochure are three new series of Rubber Duckie miniature antennas: The Duck 14 series for scanner application in the high-low band, the Duck 15 for scanner application in the low band and the Duck 220 series for ham application. A cross reference sheet relating to frequencies and bases for ease of selection is also included.

89 Air Compressors—Deltech Engineering, Inc. has issued a new brochure on “How to Purify High Pressure Breathing Air.” The 24-page brochure uses text diagrams and photos to present criteria for selection of equipment and to describe procedures for its proper installation and use. The major sections describe the effects of contaminants in compressed breathing air, high pressure apparatus, the purifier, the cascade system and a list of 32 items that should be checked for proper installation and operation.

90 Emergency Lighting—Dual-Lite, Inc., Emergency Lighting Division, has available literature on its newly introduced AS-BC Series of 6 and 12-volt emergency lighting units. Designed for industrial as well as commercial applications, the AS-BC Series utilizes sealed pure lead batteries which require no maintenance over a normal 15-year life expectancy. Units are completely selfcontained and fully automatic to provide emergency lighting for a minimum of 90 minutes during a power failure or blackout.
