First E-ONE 100′ Platform delivered

Five months after its debut at the 2007 Fire Department Instructor’s Conference, Columbus, GA, has taken delivery of the first E-ONE 100′ Platform.

“We were approved to buy a bucket truck and the City of Columbus and chief Jeff Meyer wanted the best truck out there for the citizens of Columbus, so that’s what we bought,” said Deputy Chief David Starling. “This truck was specifically designed for our department by the engineers at E-ONE to respond to firefighting, medical and rescue calls.”

City-wide departments and officials support the efforts of Columbus Fire and EMS to stay on top of the latest technology and purchase state-of-the-art equipment, making it one of the most pioneering and versatile departments in the country.

“Columbus Fire Rescue and EMS is a very progressive department,” said Bob McDonel dealer principal of Fireline, Inc., the exclusive E-ONE dealer for Georgia and South Carolina. “They recognize the benefits of deploying the latest technology and providing their department members with the best equipment and training available. We were excited to help them specify this truck to meet their demanding, constantly-evolving needs.”

This is the fourth E-ONE aerial for Columbus Fire and EMS and Deputy Chief Starling attributes their newest addition to the people of E-ONE and the excellent product they build.

“E-ONE is a top-of-the-line organization with industry-leading technology,” said Starling. “The people of E-ONE are always very welcoming each time we visit and I would suggest any department visit Ocala and tour the facilities.”

Columbus’ new E-ONE 100′ platform boasts many innovative features including an all-new variable speed control (VSC) system which elevates and rotates quicker based on the platform position and delivers impeccable control.

The firefighter-inspired platform design features a total of 25.4 square feet with an interior working space of 18.9 square feet. Dual, inward-swinging doors on the 45 degree front angled corners of the platform provide 180-degree access to the scene and allow simultaneous transfer of personnel and equipment at three points for loading and unloading.

With a narrow 15′ 6″ jack spread, the new E-ONE HP 100 Platform requires less space for side-to-side setup than comparable products while providing excellent platform performance.

The platform also provides a 100′ vertical reach and 91′ 6″ horizontal reach combined with a 250″ wheelbase ensures the HP 100 Platform offers unmatched maneuverability.
