LION TotalCare Awarded PPE Care and Maintenance Contract for FDNY

PRESS RELEASE

DAYTON, Ohio – LION TotalCare, the largest family-owned manufacturer of first responder personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms in the U.S., was recently awarded the PPE care and maintenance contract for the Fire Department City of New York (FDNY), the largest fire department in the U.S.

Through this contract, LION TotalCare will service the approximately 22,000 sets of structural firefighting turnout gear that the department has in the field, keeping the gear maintained and fit for duty while assisting the fire department with its NFPA 1851 compliance efforts.

“We are honored and excited to grow our partnership with FDNY,” said Mark Smith, president of LION Americas. “The FDNY has entrusted us for years to provide much of its structural firefighting protective equipment and chem-bio protective garments, as well as many of our training props and solutions. We are thrilled they have now selected us to clean, inspect and repair the department’s PPE, and we feel we are the most qualified and capable partner to service and assist this progressive fire department in maintaining these products.”
