Battery Back-up

The EBB Series Battery Back-up Systems is now available from Digitize. The system provides alarm and monitoring components with emergency direct current power in the event of alternating current power system failures.

The EBB-6 and the EBB-24 are self-contained and use built-in gel cells to provide 24-volt DC current to alarm receiving units.

The back-up battery power units connect to the alarm receiving units with pre-wired modular plugs. A battery indicator lamp indicates the charging rate of the dual rate charging system.

Power for the charging system is provided by the alarm receiving unit. A set of terminal posts is provided for external 24 volt DC use.

Fire Door

O’keeffe’s Inc., a west coast skylight manufacturer, has developed a fire rated glass door for use in one hour code construction. The Glasprotex door contains a glass called contraflam which prevents the transfer of radiant heat and flames. Contraflam, like standard tempered insulating glass, consists of two panels of life tempered glass separated by a metal spacer. It differs in that the cavity between the two glass panels is filled with a transparent gel capable of blocking flame and radiant heat. Under normal conditions the gel is completely clear, allowing undistorted vision through the glass. When subjected to extreme heat the glass lite exposed to the fire delaminates from this gel and shatters.

Glarefree Lighting

Smoke Lazers, manufactured by Pro-Light Corp., insure glarefree lighting in smoke and fog. The flashlight employs a special baffle mounted in the lens so that primary light coming off the bulb is blocked. Only reflected light is allowed to escape in a tight, collimated beam. This action eliminates the glare which may cause a fire fighter to pass a smoke inhalation victim or impede an EMT at a crash scene.

Smoke Lazers come with a lanyard ring tail cap and optional shoulder harness strap.
