Ram cylinder
The FAG Bearings Corporation, Industrial Products Division, introduces the FAG rescue ram cylinder, the newest addition to the existing line of FAG rescue equipment. The ram cylinder, developed for use in rescue situations that require extraordinary spreading distance and pushing force, has a maximum pushing force of about 13,200 pounds.

Air analysis kit
Sensidyne Inc.’s Gastec Airtec Kit provides fast, inexpensive, on-the-spot analysis of compressed breathing air for toxic levels of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oil mist, and water vapor. The monitoring is done via direct-reading detector tubes attached directly to the source through pressure regulation and flow control.

Self-contained breathing apparatus accessories
National Draeger Inc.’s Panorama Nova silicone face mask, part number 421 R51350, has a double sealing edge, adjustable fivepoint head straps for custom fit and rapid donning, an effective speaking diaphragm for clear communications, and the distortion-free Panorama field of vision. The Draeger welding shield, part number 421 4059306, metal frame triplane design, entirely covers the wearer’s field of vision for added protection when performing torchcutting tasks. The stainless steel buddy breathing “Y” adapter, part number 592 4059303, connects to the demand regulator air line by means of the ‘”Y” adapter. All three accessories can be used with the Draeger PA-80 series of SCBA.

Self-adhering cold bandages
Cold bandages that stay cool for hours, are reusable, and conform to the body’s contours are available from C.A.H. Industries Inc. Called Artic-Wrap, the bandages provide a convenient way to reduce swelling and minimize pain. The cold wrap features a moist-feeling contact material that is nontoxic and transmits cold from the wrap to the injured area.

New shaped strobe
Whelen Engineering Company Inc. has developed strobe warning lights that combine a new shape with major advancements in optics, micro-electronics, and aerodynamics, according to the company. The SuperStrobe 360 features a rounded Lexan dome, stainless steel clamp ring and solid cast aluminum base. The standard SuperStrobe 360 comes equipped with a combination permanent/ pipe mount, a remote bezel mounted hi/ off/low switch, and a black pressure sensitive sun shade.
