Dräger announced that it has engineered its portfolio of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) products to best meet the diverse needs of today’s firefighters. The customizable configurations allow fire departments to find the right combination of features to meet their unique needs.

Unprecedented Customization
The Dräger PSS 5000 & 7000 Carrying Systems provide high mobility, optimal weight distribution and waist belts that swivel. The PSS 7000 also adds sliding capabilities, which allow for extra movability. While traditional harnesses are uncomfortable and restrict movement, Dräger’s SCBA harnesses are designed to be flexible, comfortable and significantly reduce the chances of compression burns. Both carrying systems also provide removable shoulder straps for easy decontamination and the PSS 7000 back plate adjusts to the height of individual firefighters.
The Dräger Sentinel 7000 Monitoring System digitally displays continuously updated cylinder pressure and time- to-EOSTI activation, offers configurable settings, 360 -degree visual and audible alarms and data logging for improved post -incident analysis.
Clearer Communications
In emergency situations, clear communication among firefighters is critical. The Dräger FPS Full-Face Mask and Integrated Communication System combines a wide field of vision and comfort with crystal-clear communication. New digital noise reduction technology allows firefighters to communicate clearly in challenging, noisy environments by filtering out breathing noise.
Dräger’s PSS 5000/7000, Sentinel 7000 and FPS 7000/FPS Com 5000 have successfully passed all the requirements of the 2013 Edition of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1981 Standard on Open-Circuit, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and NFPA 1982:2013. Dräger has also passed all testing for National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) 42 CFR, Part 84 and SCBA CBRN approval.
