Detroit (MI) Fire Department Special Operations Team Given a Boost by Donation from CMC Rescue, KASK America, New England Ropes

Inspired by the commitment to Detroit (MI) firefighters made by the documentary filmmakers of “Burn” and the Leary Firefighters Foundation (LFF), CMC Rescue, Inc., KASK America and New England Ropes have partnered to donate more than $15,000 of high-angle rescue gear to the Detroit Fire Department’s special operations team. This is the second donation CMC Rescue and KASK America have made to the Detroit Fire Department.

This latest donation includes much-needed equipment that will allow the department to conduct specialized rope rescue training for high-angle rescue. CMC Rescue donated 28 fire rescue and specialty harnesses, carabiners, pulleys, rescue 8s, anchor plates, webbing, and rope rescue manuals and field guides. KASK America donated 23 KASK Super Plasma helmets and New England Ropes more than 4,000 feet of Static-Pro Lifeline.

“Having the right equipment on a rescue is essential, and using the same type of equipment in training is invaluable,” said CMC Rescue’s Business Development Manager Joe Flachman. “Our mandate has always been to find or develop specialized pieces of equipment tailored to make the rescue process safer and more efficient.”

“Without the right safety gear – these brave professionals put their lives in even greater danger. KASK is  proud to have provided the Detroit Fire Department with its helmets, recognized as one of the best search & rescue  products on the market”, added Gian Paolo Pasini, President and CEO of KASK America.
