Skagit County (WA) Fire District 3 designed its two HME pumpers for general firefighting. Chief Dave Skrinde says the department also responds to MVAs for fire suppression, traffic control, and hazmat support. Top-mount pump panel provides operator protection and scene visibility.

Features/Equipment:
- 1871 P2 MFD chassis with 213-inch wheelbase and 12-inch raised-roof cab with medical cabinet and six seats;
- CUMMINS ISL 400-hp diesel engines with ALLISON 3000 EVS automatic transmission;
- HALE Qflo single-stage, 1,250-gpm pump with Foamlogix 2.1A system, 2½-inch front bumper discharge reduced for 1¾-inch hose, 2½-inch crosslays, two 1¾-inch speedlays, and TFT Crossfire monitor;
- APR 850-gallon water tank and 30-gallon foam tank;
- GORTITE roll-up compartment doors and four wheel well sleeves for spare SCBA cylinders;
- ZIAMATIC hydraulic ladder rack;

- light and power with ONAN six-kw hydraulic generator, four FRC floodlights (two each extendable at front and two tripod at rear of body, eight WELDON scene lights (six on body; two on cab), and one HANNAY electric cord reel.
The Redlands (CA) Fire Department has in service two pumpers and one wildland interface vehicle. The SEAGRAVE pumpers were designed to standardize the fleet for general firefighting and urban interface incidents, explains Battalion Chief Jim Topoleski. The Class A foam systems allow for quick knockdown and shorter overhaul time. The BME Interface pumper is designed for wildland and wildland interface fire suppression and support and is used in other areas of limited water supply. It has a short wheelbase and high angle of departure and clearance.

The South Adams County Fire Protection District in Commerce City, Colorado, set up its SVI TRUCKS unit for the district’s technical rescue team, according to Chief Craig Machuga. The vehicle is equipped for a variety of rescue types: high- and low-angle, rope, trench, swiftwater, and ice. It also responds to structure fires.
