Alsn Saulsbury Receives Joe Fishelson Award

This award is named after Joe Fishelson, a pioneer in the manufacturing of fire equipment and big proponent of customer service. The award is presented annually for excellence in customer service to the fire service. This year’s award went to Alan Saulsbury of Fire Spec Services, and formerly of Saulsbury Fire Apparatus. According to Sam Goldwater, the award’s Board of Directors Chair, “If you look at the past recipients of the award and, specifically, at Alan Saulsbury’s career, you will see people who have devoted their entire careers to supporting the fire service and with that support have excelled in a way that deserves recognition. In Saulsbury’s efforts to provide customer service to the heavy rescue community, he single handedly change the definition of what a heavy rescue is today. Alan’s continuing contributions include training and ongoing mission to make fire apparatus safer and more functional.”
