Advanced Announces Halma Deal

Advanced Electronics Ltd, the parent company of Massachusetts based fire systems manufacturer Advanced Fire Systems Inc, was acquired by Halma Plc, in the safety, health and sensor technology group.

The move has been greeted positively by Advanced’s US President and CEO Mike Troiano: “Our outlook has never been more exciting and the Halma deal only supports that. It’s business as usual for all of our customers, partners and suppliers, and we’d like to formally thank them all for their ongoing support,” he said.

The deal sees Advanced enter the next stage of its growth backed by what CEO, Ray Hope, describes as its ‘perfect partner’:

“We’re absolutely delighted to join Halma and continue Advanced’s development. Halma is the perfect partner for us, it buys successful businesses and works with their existing management to develop them as part of wider vertical market portfolios.

“Advanced adds a great deal to Halma and it was attracted to us precisely because we are not like any other fire systems manufacturer, because of the partners we have and the very bright future the business enjoys.”

Advanced has operated from Northumberland in the UK for 15 years and trades in over 60 countries worldwide, with offices in North America, Middle East, India and trade partners in Australia. Its rapid growth and reputation for unbeatable performance, quality and ease-of-use has been built on continuous and significant investment in R&D, focus on the customer and the development of a talented workforce.

The business is active in many national industry bodies and enjoys a great deal of respect in the fire and life safety industry.

Hope continued: “We have worked with Halma companies for many years, its approach is enlightened and we will continue to operate with the same management team and from our existing locations, to drive our development plan forward.

“I think the acquisition adds to our ambitions and will help get the business to the next level, serving more markets and continuing to deliver the industry’s best products. It’s a good day for the whole Advanced team, customers, suppliers and partners wherever they are across the globe.”
