The Fire Department Safety Officers Association (FDSOA) certification examination for the Incident

The Fire Department Safety Officers Association (FDSOA) certification examination for the Incident Safety Officer will be offered on November 3, 1999, at the Regal Riverfront Hotel, 200 South 4th Street, St. Louis, Missouri, at 1:30 p.m. FDSOA`s Curriculum Committee, formed in April 1998, met with the National Fire Academy, where its members brainstormed, researched, and developed the Incident Safety Officer curriculum.

In March 1999, FDSOA applied to the National Board on Professional Qualifications for accreditation status, which would grant national certification to individuals taking the exam. The application is under review.
