Pull-A-Part Hosting Jaws of Life Certification Training in Knoxville

Tennessee firefighters and EMTs are required to be certified in vehicle extraction practices. According to Rick Herrell, Assistant Chief of the Rural Metro Fire Department, one of the biggest challenges in carrying out this training is finding a sufficient number of vehicles for trainees to practice on. Pull-A-Part will provide a number of intact cars from its inventory and a secure practice area for rescuers to train and become more familiar with rescue equipment in real-life scenarios. The training will take place during 13 full days in April for approximately 100 full time and reserve firefighters and EMTs. The Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads vehicles conducts the training, administers testing and provides certification to participants.
