New FSRI Online Training on GA Garden Apartment Near Miss Incident

UL’s Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI) announced the release of the new “Garden Apartment Fire Near Miss Incident in Cobb County, Georgia” online course. The course content focuses on the events of a garden apartment fire in Cobb County, Georgia, in which members of the fire attack crew were burned. It reviews FSRI’s analysis of contributing factors and, together with the firefighters involved, reflects on key evidence-based recommendations for the fire service.

“Our hope is that by sharing our survival story we can enhance firefighter safety, improve fireground decision making and increase your situational awareness,” Kevin Gross, Deputy Fire Chief, Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services Department

Firefighters are encouraged to take this course to reflect on fire department practices and to implement key recommendations from this incident to increase firefighter situational awareness and enhance fireground decision making.
