Firefighter Training Drill: The House on the Hill

By Dan Doyle
Firefighter, Pittsburgh (PA) Bureau of Fire
Instructor, Traditions Training LLC

This drill discusses options for viewing all sides of a structure when the incident becomes topographically challenged. The terrain in your particular response district will have quite an impact on your choice of tactics. Getting a good look at the structure in question might not be as easy as you think! Multiple levels below grade are often encountered coupled with accessibility issues. Here are a few options to acquire a quick look at the “C” side.

“The House on the Hill” (The Dreaded 360° is Not Always Just a Walk Around) will be presented at FDIC 2014 on Thursday, April 10, at 3:15 p.m. in Lucas Oil Stadium Meeting Rooms 10-12.
