FDNY Firefighter Retires after 40 Years on the Job

A recent Daily News video talked to Fire Department of New York (FDNY) Captain Bob Morris on the last day of his 40-year career. Morris discussed his enjoyment of the job and the nature of the fire service, among other things.

Bob has retired as captain of Rescue Company 1. He co-authored FDNY’s Forcible Entry Manual, which is used throughout the fire service. He lectures frequently on forcible entry, rescue operations, and truck company tactics, and is an instructor for the Forcible Entry portion of FDIC‘s Urban Essentials program.
