Students Injured in MD University Chemistry Building Explosion

Two “college aged” female students were hurt in an explosion at the University of Maryland chemistry building, according to reports Monday on the social media sites of Prince George’s County (MD) Firefighters.

The University Campus Alert System sent out this message to students and faculty: “There has been a chemical incident in the Bio-Chemistry building. Fire and Police personnel are on scene. Stay away from the area.”

WUSA indicated that firefighters followed up with notifications indicating that there were injuries in the explosion.
