Rhode Island adopts 1997 edition of NFPA 1
The Rhode Island Fire Safety Code Board of Appeal and Review has adopted National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1, Fire Prevention CodeT, 1997, effective February 1, 1998. The code, notes Rhode Island State Fire Marshal Irving Owens, “represents a solid commitment to fire safety.” Rhode Island had adopted the 1992 edition of the Code in 1996.
