A volunteer firefighter with the St. James (NY) Fire District passed away last week after responding to a call.
A short time after responding to a school fire alarm on November 15, Richard Weisse, Sr., 59, suffered a medical emergency and passed away. The nature and cause of fatal injury are pending further investigation, according to the U.S. Fire Administration firefighter fatality report.
Weisse had 42 years of service.
